This isn't mine, and I can't definitively find the original source. But I love this little bit of wisdom:

"If you're a fifteen-minute walk from a coffee shop, but the server there has to drive an hour to get to work, you don't live in a walkable city. You live in a theme park."

It’s Sundowning in America

“How did a great, sophisticated nation, one of the world’s longest-standing republics, end up so fragile that it can be undone by one man’s dementia? “

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Maybe it makes perfect sense that you'd be irritable & exhausted after carrying what you've been carrying for as long as you've been carrying it. Maybe that's not a "mood disorder"-- maybe that's the normal human response to long term complex traumatic stress, not "pathology."

Friends and comrades made a crowdfunding page for my family.

It’s really hard to post this. I know that there are a lot of other important issues asking for money but things have gotten to the point where we need to open ourselves up to your support.

Thank you for your consideration.

The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone. These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!

Trump on getting Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon fired: "It's really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!"

One of the most remarkable things of the last 9 months is how many Americans seem to believe the President is all powerful and Congress has no say.
Actually Congress has been ineffective by choice. It has immense power if it had the courage to use it.

The Big Beautiful Bill gives Meta a $15 billion check.

That’s more than our federal government spends on child care in an entire year.

If we invested that much in child care & early childhood education, we’d create stronger futures for everyone, not just Mark Zuckerberg.

The act of “signing” for anything is purely performative at this point. Like I have no idea what I just scribbled on that pad, I don’t even know what you’re comparing it to anymore and I probably can’t even convincingly even forge my own signature but sure let’s keep on doing this forever I guess

Americans and Iranians have a lot in common, such as that in both countries supreme power actually rests with a small group of unaccountable theocrats appointed for life.

It is particularly important to deal with negative transferences in the earliest sessions; otherwise, the patient may not come back. Clients often need a sense of permission to put words to what may seem “impolite” or “inappropriate” to say in other contexts.

Low-quality papers are surging by exploiting public data sets and AI Paper mills are also likely contributing to “false discoveries”

This is about NHANES, a great openly available study, the same dynamic is seen with Mendelian Randomization. I am reminded of the line: “Strange game, the only way to win is not to play”… the game being rigged is “peer reviewed publications” and we don’t have a consensus on abandoning those….

"Integration" in trauma recovery is not about making "parts" disappear. It's about our parts developing the capacity & willingness to work w/ & support each other, so we're not violently & unpredictably slamming in & out of self-states like we often were pre-recovery.
