Leveraging London's streets as one of its most valuable assets, Strand Aldwych transforms one of Westminster's busiest and most polluted corridors into a vibrant and verdant destination. By filtering out through traffic, 7000 m² of roadway is reclaimed into an accessible and welcoming public space.🧡

Does D.C. have the worst traffic? Not so fast. A recent Consumer Affairs report claims D.C. has the worst traffic in America. Here’s why you should take the numbers with a grain of salt.

β€œConcentrating future growth near transit is the best way for our region to grow without choking on traffic.”

CSG’s @stewartcsg.bsky.social weighs in on DC traffic congestion in this piece from @washingtonpost.com:

I passed by these bikes in Karlstad, Sweden yesterday running to catch a bus. Apparently, any public transport user can borrow them for free through an app.

Thank you @wmatagm.bsky.social & the @wmata.com team for great progress at Metro! More frequent rail & bus service, improved reliability, bus network redesign, easier fare payment, low cost fare option for people who need it, increased ridership, more transit-oriented development deals. Keep it up!

DC ranked #1 for worst traffic congestion in the country, according to a newly released Consumer Affairs report.

We know we have traffic congestion.

The real news is that we have more solutions to congestion than most regions of the country - and can do better.

A very 20th Century traffic analysis from @ConsumerAffairs. 1) It isn't clear they considered causality. They ranked long commutes as bad, but the cause of the time isn't clear. It could be people choosing to get exercise by walking. 1/5

Amendment #1 (Friedson) to change ZTA effective date to 11/1 to coordinate w/ related subdivision bill passes unanimously.

Amendment #2 (Sayles) is a biennial report on applications, units produced, etc. She believes it will help show the community the ZTA’s benefits for affordability and equity

Glass offers a friendly amendment to also include in this report newly built single-family homes triggered by a demolition permit. Compare impact of new homes under this ZTA to those that can be built today. (I like this suggestion!) Sayles accepts, Council adopts Amendment #2 unanimously.
