At the end of a week with crappy news, here’s a chance to just do some pure good.

The Hartford mayor and I are starting a summer basketball league for kids in the city. We need to raise about $20K more to fund it.

It’s going to be awesome. Active City is our implementing partner. There will be 6 neighborhood based teams in each age based division. Games in the outdoor city parks.

But coaches, uniforms, refs and insurance cost money. I promised to raise it and I need your help.

Unbelievably, there is no citywide rec basketball league in Hartford. Every surrounding suburb has one. It’s so unfair to the city’s kids and we need to remedy this.

The reason there isn’t one here is just the lack of $$. We can solve this.

We didn't fall apart in stoppage. That was huge for us! I held my breath for that last 5.

i think it's important for folks who are generally in the "Democrats suck and never do anything helpful" camp to understand that, yes, that is more or less true, but what Chuck Schumer is doing right now is like, in a league of its own in terms of Democrats actively working against democracy
