Leigh’s prior book “Hurts So Good” is a masterful exploration of pain on purpose. It’s one of the most fascinating and insightful things you’ll ever read (I was lucky enough to consult on the pain science in the book).

I’ve been calling Leigh the best science writer in the world for many years. The reason for this is that they’re absolutely meticulous about the scientific details, and at the same time their writing is incredibly emotive. If Leigh wants you to feel something, you *will* feel it.

I think this framing works, it just begs the question: at what point, smoosh-wise, can two humps become one, rhetorically? like, can the boobies become one hump if pressed together, the way jeans can form two cheeks into one?

I think what I am missing is the hump/humps disambiguation; surely there must be a system of differentiation??

lumps = titties
humps = ass
hump = Fergie is a dromedary camel

in light of this, I believe she is a dromedary camel. my partner does not, and contends that a butt may be referred to as a single unit when physically round, despite its characteristic double ass cheek design, a shape that gives it (deep sigh) two fucking humps

see, Fergie switches between saying "my hump" and "my humps" and I contend, most bitterly and to the dismay of my beloved, that she is talking about not just her butt, which would always be "humps" as it is classically split in twain

everything is terrible and shit is incredibly bad and we are over here fighting behind closed doors about the nature of the human ass, as god intended. and I just will not let it go.

hell yes!! I love the puzzle aspect of it so much, like when I'm learning something new and I have to expend so much *thinking* to figure out what goes where and when, what pushes and what pulls and what releases, where the contact points are, all of it. Just a little meat-based puzzle :)
