It's time we got a grip and took the action needed to protect British farming and protect the public.

Climate change is bad for health – we will all pay the price for retreating from the battle to ensure universal coverage The COP30 summit made one truth painfully clear: those people least responsible for the climate crisis are paying the highest price in the form of ...

Climate shocks + rising debt are straining health systems worldwide. Defending universal health coverage is a matter of UK health security. ⬇️

This ruling shows that proscribing Palestine Action was a grave misuse of terrorism laws.

Labour must accept its mistake, drop its appeal and stop wasting taxpayers' money on suppressing civil liberties.

Let’s stop the damage to our rivers - Winchester MP Danny Chambers This month I’ve been focusing on my work with local campaigners to protect our precious countryside and nature. You might have seen the news…

Treat children's mental health with the same seriousness as physical health
β€œBelonging starts with feeling seen, heard and supported.” For too many young people, that sense of belonging just isn’t there. Behind school uniforms and so... Treat children's mental health with the same seriousness as physical health

This Children's Mental Health Week is a reminder we have to do better. I’m proud of groups like Winchester Youth Counselling who offer free support & wellbeing drop-ins. For some young people, that conversation is when things start to turn around.

We are writing to urge the government to take the necessary steps to provide Ukrainian refugees in the UK with the stability and security they deserve by establishing a clear pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Nearly four years have passed since Russia’s invasion, and Ukrainian families in the UK continue to endure profound uncertainty. Many have already built meaningful lives here, working in essential sectors, contributing to our economy, and integrating into our communities. Yet, their futures remain precarious due to the temporary nature of their current settlement status.

This has a severe impact on their lives in the UK. Reports suggest that Ukrainians are missing out on job opportunities, loans, mortgages, and lease renewals all because they do not have a pathway to permanent settlement. Not only does this put them a material disadvantage, but the pressures of securing housing and financial security under the current visa system puts refugees through unnecessary anxiety. Their country is already at war – it is deeply unfair to put Ukrainians through further stress.

Ukrainians have also explained that the uncertainty around their temporary immigration status is affecting their family life and their children’s education. Many are unable to plan properly for schooling because they do not know whether they may be required to leave the UK in the near future. Families are deeply worried about the disruption this could cause to their children’s learning.

The Ukrainian scheme remains the only humanitarian scheme not to include a pathway to permanent settlement. Ukrainians in this country will not be able to live with the certainty and security they deserve until this is rectified, so it is vital that the government provides them with a clear pathway to settlement.

AI Chatbots provide countless opportunities, but also countless risks. We need to regulate these bots to keep all users safe online.

Rural areas have been left isolated after bus companies and Conservative councils cut routes, leaving people unable to travel to GP appointments or get to school.

Short sighted 'savings' will only lead to bigger costs for all of us later. We should be expanding rural bus services, not cutting them.
