We are writing to urge the government to take the necessary steps to provide Ukrainian refugees in the UK with the stability and security they deserve by establishing a clear pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). Nearly four years have passed since Russia’s invasion, and Ukrainian families in the UK continue to endure profound uncertainty. Many have already built meaningful lives here, working in essential sectors, contributing to our economy, and integrating into our communities. Yet, their futures remain precarious due to the temporary nature of their current settlement status. This has a severe impact on their lives in the UK. Reports suggest that Ukrainians are missing out on job opportunities, loans, mortgages, and lease renewals all because they do not have a pathway to permanent settlement. Not only does this put them a material disadvantage, but the pressures of securing housing and financial security under the current visa system puts refugees through unnecessary anxiety. Their country is already at war – it is deeply unfair to put Ukrainians through further stress. Ukrainians have also explained that the uncertainty around their temporary immigration status is affecting their family life and their children’s education. Many are unable to plan properly for schooling because they do not know whether they may be required to leave the UK in the near future. Families are deeply worried about the disruption this could cause to their children’s learning. The Ukrainian scheme remains the only humanitarian scheme not to include a pathway to permanent settlement. Ukrainians in this country will not be able to live with the certainty and security they deserve until this is rectified, so it is vital that the government provides them with a clear pathway to settlement.

After nearly four years of war, Ukrainian families in the UK continue to endure uncertainty. Ukrainian refugees in the UK deserve stability and security. I signed this letter from Mike Martin MP calling on the Government to offer a clear pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Many #AI chatbots are designed to act like friends, therapists or even doctors yet they have no qualifications and almost no rules governing how they behave.

We need a statutory public inquiry into Jeffrey Epstein and his influence in British politics to uncover the truth and get justice for victims.

I spoke to residents and experts about how we tackle the threat of climate change at a showing of ‘System Update’ in Alresford.

I joined the Upper Itchen Restoration Company to help with invertebrate sampling and find out how they work to protect our chalk streams.

I stood with local residents in the Meon Valley to call on the Conservative-run Council to stop vehicles destroying the river.

I’ve been taking on the social media giants. And calling for new regulations against AI chatbots.

I called for an amendment to the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill to introduce a ban on harmful social media for under-16s.

I launched my Stop the Bots campaign to take on the tech giants and regulate harmful AI chatbots which are having a severe impact on young people’s mental health.

In my latest newsletter, I wrote about the huge challenges ahead of us for 2026. Taking on the big social media tech companies will not be easy, but we need stronger regulations to protect young people's mental health (1/3)

I will be continuing to call for a guarantee of treatment for all within 62 days of urgent referral so that each person diagnosed with this cruel disease stands the best chance at full recovery.

On #WorldCancerDay, I want to express my thanks to the researchers, healthcare staff, volunteers and carers who work tirelessly to support those living with cancer.

Rural areas have been left isolated after bus companies and Conservative councils cut routes, leaving people unable to travel to GP appointments or get to school.

Short sighted 'savings' will only lead to bigger costs for all of us later. We should be expanding rural bus services, not cutting them.

These allegations are incredibly serious, it is now only right that the police investigate Peter Mandelson for potential misconduct in public office.

Peter Mandelson should resign.

I will be continuing to push both Ministers and the telecoms companies to roll out broadband to all those areas of my constituency that have been left behind.

This is not just devastating for businesses, frustrating for residents trying to contact others, but also downright dangerous when whole neighbourhoods are left with no connectivity during a health emergency.

Places such as South Wonston, Sutton Scotney and New Alresford sit in the worst ten per cent in the UK for connectivity. It is disgraceful that, in modern Britain, many in rural areas are left isolated.

One third of adults now use AI chatbots for emotional support yet there is still no clear regulation on this.

@dannychambers.bsky.social asked the Health Secretary what assessment has been made of AI chatbots. The response: no assessment has been made.
