Well we have had our first hard frost so the evergreens have taken centre stage in my tiny garden. When I first moved into my house I thought I would do flower arranging so planted foliage plants and now am so happy I did that. 🌱 #sixonSaturday It’s going to rain all day so I will be stitching.

Highly detailed close-up of the same subject's eye. The inner blue ring grades from very light blue at the centre to dark blue to almost black on the edges, but is lightly speckled and undulating in gradation. Combined with the black pupil at its centre and the vivid red ring on the outer edge, it looks like a stellar phenomenom - a combination of an eclipse and a supernova.

Ocellated Antbirds are one of the shyest Costa Rican antbirds and they very seldom get close. But there were a few family groups this morning with a bunch of hungry young birds and the adults were busy showing them how to hunt for insects flushed by the army ants.
