I’m asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. I’ve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor.

I chose correctly, Sam, and she put on a hell of a concert. First Ave staff was also incredible to my disabled daughter. Top ten concert of all time.

Maybe in Portland & Seattle, part of the reason we walk everywhere is because driving sucks—super busy all the time and nowhere to park. I feel like it’s still easy to park close for most places here in Mpls. We live 1/2 mile from byerlys and walk there all the time; our neighbors drive. Idk.

Popping in to recommend Foxfire Breathworks—owner lives in the neighborhood and operates a sauna on the shore of lake Nokomis. In the winter, volunteers maintain an ice hole for dipping in between sauna sessions. Exhilarating and fun way to meet more neighbors! I’ve lived here 19 years and love it.

Might have been a buck rubbing his antlers on there to leave his scent. Almost the season for deer love (and hunting, I only know this because I married into a hunting family).

Also this assumption that city people never leave the city. Christ, half the city people I know are hunters. City people hunt too! We hunt out in the country! Here’s another explanation mark to explain how annoyed I am!

It’s better, but we could have had our own Wood Lake Nature Center. I live near the golf course and have been following this closely since the start. The golfers were retired and loud and drowned everyone out, entire process. I guess it’s the correct plan if nobody’s happy?

I have an air fryer-toaster oven combo. I preserve cherry tomatoes with it. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, air fry at lower heat (275-300) until jammy. Freeze in half pint jars and use as a base for soups, sauces.

ICE says it wasn’t them. DHS says they were Border Patrol. But honestly who the hell knows? They’ve given permission for any psycho to put on a ski mask, point a gun, grab people & throw them into an unmarked vehicle.

What these people “love” is *making money* in Minneapolis. Realtors with huge commissions around the Chain of Lakes, landlords gouging renters, and developers begging for TIF to build “affordable housing”

Who owns the city? The people who live there or the people who own the real estate?

Tuesday, a large, masked group of heavily armed federal agents rolled into Minneapolis with armored vehicles. Why was it so hard for so many to believe Frey and MPD in that moment? Because they have a horrible track record when it comes to "Gathering facts and communicating the truth." 🧵

Later Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) called the event a "groundbreaking criminal operation," and said it was the first in Minnesota "under the Homeland Security Task Force umbrella — marking a new chapter in how we confront complex, multidimensional threats." "From drug smuggling to criminal labor trafficking, this operation showcases the breadth of our collective missions and the strength of a united front,” said ICE Homeland Security Investigations St. Paul Special Agent in Charge Jamie Holt. "... Together, we are safeguarding communities, protecting national security, and setting a new standard of joint enforcement efforts.” Holt said ICE was assisted by state and local law enforcement, as well as federal partners, including the U.S. Attorney's Office, FBI, IRS-CI, DEA, ERO, ATF, USMS, DSS, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, and the TSA.

In the ongoing confusion of what happened yesterday, ICE has released a statement confirming they were there (which was already confirmed by eyewitnesses) and listing "state and local law enforcement" and a host of federal agencies as assisting ICE. (1/2)
