since your game is a niche game, I think it wouldn't be an issue. do it when you feel comfortable.

After playing the demo, I think I also like the high-res. Sometimes it's a bit hard to tell what's going on on the screen, it's too busy. Have you also tried a 2-Bit/four color palette for a bit more contrast?
