Well, in the absence of an overarching sovereign that performs, we all become the executors of the law of nature, yeah?

Evaluating if the sovereign is doing its job does a lot of heavy lifting there, though, don’t it?

It’s really messed up. No lie. It’s honestly one of the most if not the most condescending things I have ever seen, and I traffic in highly rarefied crap.

The *really* funny part, though, is that I only got my hands on a copy because the ex-girlfriend of one of my committed atheist housemates was trying to get him to watch it, ostensibly to convert him.

Which is absolutely not sane. It fascinated me that she had no idea how offensive the movie is.

People understand now, of course. But that’s bad.

It was like 10+ years ago when it was big on bootleg and if you’ve seen it, then you know that there is no way to explain even just the plot without sounding like a hater-bigot, yeah?

Reminds me of late stage garbage time of the “PC Wars” before anti-woke took off. If a “liberal” told someone a word was offensive, the response was often to taunt the idea of bad words. The rejoinder should have been, “Yeah, I was trying to be nice, but really what I mean is: You’re being a dick.”
