Sidetracked? With all those slow news days?
09.11.2025 17:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I already wrote to Josh about this, but perhaps this subset of the TPM fan base will find this interesting. Joshβs post about his sailboat inspired me to build one too. I finished the boat this past summer, and named it Floating Point Memo.
09.11.2025 17:01 β π 28 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0Would he want to?
31.10.2025 22:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But he isnβt now. What is the point he is trying to make?
27.10.2025 02:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is, again, projection, but in a more disgusting way than previously.
20.10.2025 01:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If only Jerry Falwell were still with us, to point out that this is God sending a message.
19.10.2025 21:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, we did elect Trump twice.
17.10.2025 15:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That is correct. Iβm not sure what the mixture is, but the taxes paid by individuals to the federal government must be enormous.
03.10.2025 23:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How? We pay federal taxes directly, state governments are not involved.
03.10.2025 19:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0How about an OS that is free, secure, free of bloatware, runs on old hardware, just works, and upgrades seamlessly?
01.10.2025 23:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Something like 800 of the most senior US military leaders were present for todayβs lunacy. Iβd love to be a fly on the wall when they go out for a beer afterward.
30.09.2025 21:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Brezhnev of our time
29.09.2025 19:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, but he looks fantastic in the painting he keeps in his attic.
20.09.2025 21:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who are the Democratic senators who voted for this nonsense? I am so far unable to find a list online.
20.09.2025 13:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Talking Points Memo
20.09.2025 02:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Democrats? You mean, the guys in blue states who subsidize the red states?
15.09.2025 23:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So β take away our money regardless of guilt? Heβs finally seeing the light on tariffs!
13.09.2025 21:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Susan Collinsβs brow is so furrowed that she has to seek medical attention.
10.09.2025 13:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When Dick Dale discovered it, it stayed discovered.
06.09.2025 20:20 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think that I tried that one. I donβt remember why I rejected it.
01.09.2025 19:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Remmina is the best that Iβve found, but scrolling is broken. RealVNC is commercial, so I didnβt try it.
01.09.2025 14:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I programmed C++ in the 90s. I peek in every so often out of morbid curiosity. It just seems to get more complex and bloated every time, and Iβm happy to be out of it. Yes, this is a pretty uninformed opinion.
01.09.2025 00:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was such a huge disappointment.
The guy made Blade Runner and Alien! Should have stopped after those.
I searched it out again, to control a Mac from Linux. Synergy 3 seems better than Synergy 1 was. Canβt speak about Windows, but I have no complaints. Itβs better than ever.
Related: I havenβt found a good VNC app to access a Mac from Linux. Any suggestions?
YES. Following was his best. Interstellar, Inception, Oppenheimer, Tenet: dull, bloated messes. What a fantastically overrated director.
28.08.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pop OS (an Ubuntu derivative) on System76 hardware. It works out of the box, updates are flawless, support is fantastic. For basic computer usage, it blows away Windows and MacOS.

18.08.2025 14:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I built a boat!
