If Labour MPs have got themselves into such a state that they think forcing Keir Starmer out is their best option, they have a nasty surprise coming their way. /19.

The story of one of the riskiest and most classified HUR special operations in occupied Crimea in 2016: a deep raid behind enemy lines, where the Russians considered themselves untouchable. Planned and led by Kyrylo Budanov.

I don't think they realise just how ridiculous and morally compromised use of X makes them look. Honestly not sure they even have a sense of that.

Police assessing claims about Andrew sharing confidential trade details It comes after files suggest the former prince shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein from his official work as trade envoy.

One absurdity of the 43-force police structure: the investigation of Mandelson is done by the Met because he was probably in London when he emailed Epstein, while the investigation of Andrew is by Thames Valley because he was in probably in Berks when he did the same.

With Streeting, Rayner pledging support, it looks like Starmer will struggle on. All rests on a massive gear change and some supportive Cabinet members may have to find their focus substantially change. Failing Domestic or successful Foreign, McSweeney or Powell….time to choose differently.

πŸ˜‚ The saga of capture of Kupyansk by Russian troops continues. As reported by Z-blogger Romanov, an investigation commission from the General Staff has arrived at "West" group of forces to investigate the situation, accept the false information, and reward those involved for their false reports.

After 14 years, we get this. There are still good people with previous ministerial experience in the party, plus people retired from a frontline role, how come we managed to put all our eggs in the Starmer/McSweeney basket? Is it just the fallout from the Corbyn years?

Spooked by Reform, Labour may have cut net migration too far With numbers already falling the government made it even harder to come to the UK – and it could cost us billions

I wrote for the @theobserveruk.bsky.social on the economic problems that will flow from yet more immigration crackdowns.

There’s a trend among recent PMs of having a poor relationship with and/or not really understanding what their backbenchers’ expectations are and how they view their role (and how that seems to have shifted among backbenchers of all parties in recent years)
