Yarp, I’ve never made an account for, or used Facebook or Linkedin in my entire life, and it’s only ever helped me in keeping things this way lol.

People know that modern success is a game. And you would think that winning the game makes you smart, but actually the way these guys win is by cheating without (luckily) getting caught

One of the most dangerous types of person in civic life is the rich guy (and it's almost always a guy) who thinks that they have expertise on all matters because they're rich.

TX polls are dominated by self serving geriatric voters. Almost no one votes here, or even knows there is an election happening half the time. And organizing is very difficult here because everything is obscenely car-dependent and spread out. TX life is isolating.

Texas has a non-voter issue (except for old people). Folks here don’t even know there is an election happening most of the time, or how to even vote. And there is no easy way to organize b/c everything is so spread out and car dependent. TX life is very isolating

Texas has no political organization. Only 13% voted this year, and most of them are retirees who read these amendments for the first time as they voted. No joke, Texans never know when an election is happening. There is no fanfare or adequate signage, no ground game

06.11.2025 21:04 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

The funny thing is: I bet half of Texans don’t even know either state is doing any kind of redistricting, let alone what that would mean politically. Politics is a ghostly phenomenon of nature over here

Texan Takes On Corporate Abuse as Trump’s FTC Abandons Workers - The American Prospect Ric Davidson’s motion to defend the federal ban on noncompete clauses would force the FTC to undertake a formal process to roll it back, not just quietly suffocate it in the dead of night.

Last week, a unemployed Texan barred from getting a job in his field by a noncompete agreement stepped up to intervene in the federal lawsuit and defend the FTC's ban on noncompetes that Trump's FTC won't. @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social talked to Ric Davidson about his story & why he decided to fight.

TX has such low turn out and almost zero political organizing. Folks here barely even know an election is happening more than half the time. Until that changes, Facebook-addicted retirees will continue to dominate from their gated communities.

A majority of, uhhhh, 13% of the population. (Non-geriatric) normies almost never know when an election takes place here or what’s even on the ballot well over half the time. TX will continue the rentier / monopolist suck-off until the low turnout changes
