First time I really made an effort to draw a cat "properly" (and not some hald-arsed cartoon one) so I referenced that photo a lot, but one has to start somewhere, I guess

In standard typography, no spaces. In English, that is. In French, we use them as dialogue marks, and we use en dashes (with spaces before and after) instead of em dashes, because... I have no idea, actually.

Back home after 5 days, and Himiko is now asleep on my thigh in bed, under the duvet, after a session of making bread.
Good to see she's found her bearings again quickly 😊
