Not sure if it's intentional suppression, but even people just outside of the affected area in NJ don't seem to know anything about it. It can happen anywhere in an instant. We can't let this continue.

I have appreciated seeing people talking about how the cuts to the NWS led to the tragedy in Texas this weekend, and I want to add this to the conversation. I suspect this is happening all over and just not being talked about on a national scale.

Since it's not being talked about much: people in Central Jersey were killed a few days ago in a storm that we were told, until it started, wasn't going to hit us. All of the people who died were driving during a storm that they had no way of knowing about beforehand. #nws #nationalweatherservice
