Thanks to everyone who brought this event (and a packed house) together.
Informative and positive look at how agriculture can maintain productivity without the chemicals, toxins and carbon emissions, and while improving biodiversity.

Soil health is the key. It's not new, but it still needs saying.

Black Grouse breeds on North York Moors after 180-year absence Black Grouse has successfully bred on the North York Moors, confirming the species' first nesting success in the area since the 1840s. Read BirdGuides's report on the monitoring, habitat restoration, and the future prospects for the re-establishing population of this striking gamebird in Yorkshire.

A project to reintroduce Black Grouse to the North York Moors has enjoyed early success, with the species successfully breeding in the national park for the first time since the 1840s:

In my personal experience, Candy's values include failing to pay consultants for their design work.

Tice's include attempting to circumvent planning law, and planning conditions requiring affordable homes, preventing "poor doors" and providing play space for children.

Tice's own team hated it.

Nigel Farage & Alex Phillips have been awfully quiet about Nathan Gill pleading guilty to eight counts of bribery relating to pro-Russia statements made in European parliament and articles.

Just wanted to refresh their memories about how they were all a team through that period.

Remember the march for Palestine (I was there!) with around 100,000 others, closing off large parts of central London? Wasn't even mentioned on local London News.

@lisanandymp.bsky.social is the rabbit in the headlights, unable to move to rid the BBC of Gibb, Davie and the rest of the Tuftonites.

It is possible to cherish the BBC as an institution while also saying that BBC News is failing very badly, day after day, in its duty to inform and that it always fails in a right-wing direction. It desperately needs to recover its integrity

How long is this Farage sycophancy from the BBC board going to poison OUR #BBCnews?

Gibb, Davie and the rest of the cabal have to go.

I despair. I have no idea what Labour are for any more 😑

Right now, it's @greenparty.org.uk or goodbye tolerant, civil democratic society

Lawson and a plethora of Tufton Street alumni.
It sadly took years before the scientific community bit back with a very public refusal to appear on Today because science was being pitched as a debate against lobbyists.
They knew they were being played, but felt they needed to explain the science.

Radio 4's news + current affairs has been unlistenable for many years. I gave up shouting at the Radio over the relentless platforming of climate change deniers and "both-sidesing" clear-cut science way back.
John Humphreys was truly appalling, but others have taken a similar line before and since.

The same far-right figures who have spent years coming for my trans friends & colleagues are emboldened again against anything different from their "normal."

Today and everyday I stand with the whole LGBTQIA+ community.

Good luck with that. It would be overwhelmingly popular and worthwhile (with safeguards for farming and nature).

Sadly, I fear this govt will ignore it, bin it, or "consult it" to death in deference to the landowning huntin' shootin' fraternity...

Embarrassing... squirming over the ruling of genocide, and forgetting "sixth form politics" is a slur against the cohort of young first-time voters his own party has only just introduced to elections.
Sadiq Khan has done some good things... but this is not his greatest hour.

I litter pick every weekend. It is extraordinarily cathartic and satisfying to see an area (no matter how small) transformed by adding a simple, easy and positive function to a half-an-hour walk in the fresh air.

I do it on my way to weekly 2 hour session restoring habitat - which is even better.

When written there was still some hope of a better candidate. I loathe party politics, but as someone with strong a environmental and humanitarian leaning, the better option appears to be Powell - on the basis she might be more likely to actually stand alternative viewpoints to Starmer's team.

It was a staggering lack of judgement in appointing him; Stupid not to pre-emptively stand him down when this started hitting the news; and political suicide to defend him.

It's as though Starmer is trying to outrun Truss, in the race to be unelectable.
