18.02.2026 16:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the Saint Paul School Board's BIGG goals focuses on improving student achievement in civics. We want to see at least 90% of students passing civics classes by 2029. We've already seen some movement! We increased from 84% to 88%, just 2% away from our goal!

10.02.2026 23:18 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm proud to be running for re-election with the support of our newest Representative, Meg Luger-Nikolai! She is a progressive champion for our city, an expert on public education policy, and I'm looking forward to working with her to build the schools our kids deserve.
10.02.2026 16:32 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Check out this great interview with Saint Paul Central Principal Cherise Ayers! She talks about our new cell phone policy, ICE response, and working to make sure all students feel seen and supported in her building.

The MN DFL held their convocation yesterday. I wasn't there because of the School Board budget session, but my fellow elected DFLers made me a representative to the State Central Committee as well as a Super Delegate. So grateful for their support and excited to get more involved in the state party!
08.02.2026 17:10 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Operation Metro Surge is negatively impacting the Saint Paul Public Schools budget. These are dollars that we will no longer be able to spend to improve outcomes for our students.
07.02.2026 21:58 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Our school board always presses our administration to cut administrative costs as much as possible while cutting the services that directly interact with students as little as possible. As a result, our administrative costs are regularly lower than that of our peer school districts.
07.02.2026 16:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm here at 360 bright and early getting ready for the School Board's budget work session. What better way is there to spend a Saturday?
07.02.2026 14:21 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not feeling well today so I'm staying home, taking some medicine, and zooming into today's AMSD (Association of Metropolitan School Districts) meeting. Today we're previewing the upcoming legislative session.

05.02.2026 16:08 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Axios had a story today about how hard Minnesotaβs economy is being hit and how slow the recovery could be. So, Iβm going to take this opportunity to say that if you want to support the Twin Cities, you should plan a visit for this summer, spend some money here, & see how amazing it is for yourself.
04.02.2026 13:47 β π 1162 π 338 π¬ 43 π 121Last night, the Saint Paul School Board solidified our commitment to protect our community from ICE by making it official district policy. A huge thank you to School Board Director Carlo Franco for making this happen.
05.02.2026 14:26 β π 10 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Our team visited caucuses all across Saint Paul last night and turnout was HUGE! This community is ready to fight back against injustice and build a better future for all of us. On to the conventions!

I'm proud of how SPPS had adjusted to protect our kids -- but we shouldn't have to do any of this. We want to bring our kids back into our buildings but can't when masked agents are roaming the streets and abducting our neighbors. ICE out of MN Now!

Our campaign has been endorsed by Run for Something, an organization that supports strong progressive leaders for local office. Proud to be able to run with their support!
29.01.2026 16:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just so we're totally clear, ICE is not allowed on SPPS property without a judicial warrant. They can't come into our buildings. They can't use our parking lots. They can't access our playgrounds. Trespassing will not be permitted.
29.01.2026 14:08 β π 6 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0I'm so honored and excited to have earned the endorsement of the Saint Paul Federation of Educators. We've had an amazing productive and collaborative relationship through my first term and I'm excited to see what we'll accomplish together in the coming years!

Everyone responsible for this terror campaign -- from the President of the United States to the ICE Agents on the ground -- must be held accountable.
24.01.2026 17:49 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesterday, 50,000 Minnesotans peacefully protested to stop the terror being inflicted on our community. Today, ICE shot and likely killed another constitutional observer on the street. I canβt say this clearly enough: Congress has to stop this. The government is killing us. Congress has to act.

SPPS IS STAYING OPEN.
Folks are asking if SPPS will follow MPS in closing for the rest of the week. The plan is to remain open -- school is the safest place for most of our kids during the day. I've attached screenshots of an email from Dr. Stanley that was sent to the SPPS community earlier today.
