Some days I'm almost ashamed to be a part of the human race. We are so destructive, self-centered, avaricious, too many adjectives to list..

Huge sunflower field under a blue summer sky. And yes I was very careful to stand on the edge and not trample the crop like so many people seem to feel entitled to do these days.

It's so evocative, right? I sometimes look at it in the dead of winter, just to keep me going 😉

ID of yellow crop. Rutabaga? Canola, rapeseed, oilseed, neep, colza, Swede, etc etc.

Just got confused and educated at the same time.

I'll be honest with you, I have no clue. I thought that it was rapeseed but googled "what are those bright yellow fields all over Ontario?" just to be sure. Of course it tells me that it's Canola. So I guess I should be using my plant app. One sec.

I was thinking this exact thing last night! ♥️

Sometimes I like to imagine how flowers look to an insect. Cathedrals of colour and texture. This is the entrance to a yellow bearded iris, dotted with raindrops.
