Like that’s incredible right? They can just be like, you don’t have that hardware anymore so if you remove the software for it you’ll get some space back. If you swap gpus in windows it pisses itself to death

That said I installed the nvidia version, got an AMD GPU and I swapped it in expecting to not even have display at all and bazzite was like, lol okay, everything works btw, full triple monitors and HDR, if you reboot you’ll be able to delete these nvidia drivers you don’t need

Do I kinda wish it was less of a pain to install stuff? Sure. Do I necessarily love how hard it is to, for example, run a python script that does anything useful? No I do not. Do I like having to learn a whole new system to mount a NAS at boot? Also no.

Bazzite is so good. I’ve used Linux nearly every day for like 10 years, I used OSX at work, you should see my jank ass homelab, I still always spent my time in windows. Bazzite is so good I feel like a bad person booting into windows when I do need it for something

It seems pretty clear to me that rewarding federal courts for their (generally) good behavior while diluting scotus and 5th circuit would be nice? Again I'm just some guy but that seems like a good set of goals that acknowledges our presently terrible position

03.02.2026 19:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I guess this was my hangup, from an "I am literally in a case right now" position your only real option is to present your case as best you can. But as an observer? Clearly the best heuristic is "admin always wins" with this court and it's stupid to pretend otherwise

03.02.2026 19:51 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Presumably the best action you can make as someone who may lose rights to this court the best option is to never be there in the room but…

Like obviously the bad guys are gonna do the bad guy thing but like as a lawyer don’t you have to act as if you have a shot?

03.02.2026 07:27 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Asking because I am not a lawyer: at the point where you are arguing in front of the court: what does β€œscooping up the cards” mean? Because like, don’t you still owe your side the best possible argument you can make? What alternative do you have, just say β€œwe all know where this is going” and leave?

YANIS VAROUFAKIS (Economist, former Minister of Finance, Greece): For several years now, a busy market has been functioning in Luxembourg trading in property and drilling rights over… asteroids. Capitalism seems to have already gone where no human had gone before.

These kinds of people will be even less successful in court than the administration had been so far

An ESQUIRE cartoon. An angry woman in what may be fancy nightclothes, holding a recently fired gun, stands over what we see as the legs of a fallen man (the rest is cut off by the edge of the door). She's saying:

"And another thing..."

The clock reads 4, so maybe he came home late once too often.

Magazine cartoons are good.

Clinton's is a clear call to action aimed at getting people to show up to protests, Obama is basically telling people to stand down and worry?

nyc sanitation dress uniform

nyc sanitation dress uniform

I have pretty poor visibility into that stuff though ofc I have heard "finest". I just think elevating sanitation specifically is cool, like they have their own dress uniforms and that strikes me as a distinctly new york city thing. Just kind of fascinating that he devotes such a big spot to them

It's genuinely cool as hell to refer to NY Sanitation as "New York City's strongest". I have heard this expressed by normal people but never from someone in office

Sometimes a git push fails and then works again a second later. Sometimes a video takes 10 seconds to start. I thought it was something I had done wrong

I installed a ubiquiti gateway at my house bc I didn’t want my 3d printer or cameras to be able to access the internet at all and I didn’t trust myself to manage that with subnets or whatever. It showed me metrics I’ve never seen about my connection to the world that I had never seen before -

80s truck with decal

80s truck with decal

Neat! Yeah that makes a ton of sense. Perhaps it won't work for accuracy reasons, but maybe if the missile took a path like the line on one of these sorta 80s style truck decals instead of a ballistic path it might sell the vintage thing a bit more?
