South Texas is a very poor place with prisons galore! So you’ve got a bunch of high school only educated young men angry at the world and hire them as ICE, CBP, or in one of the many federal or state prisons (as COs or in admin). Add to that a love of guns and sprinkle in some Texas attitude

the extreme poverty of south texas combined with the prison industrial complex in that area (they’re the only industry that hires!) strikes again 😢
