Working some proof of concept colours and effects on my undead, the way GW have painted them to my eye looks too bright and shiny for dead that have lay rotting.
Thus, dirty fabric, rusty and moulding armour.
Any feedback would be great.

Old Goth, wargamer, scale modeller. Here for the hobby geekery! Zero politics, zero tolerance for bullshit

They are really nice sculpts, the Deathrattle skellies are well designed with a huge range of variables.

After months of cajoling I've planted my flag in AoS undead! Beautiful miniatures and strangely addictive. Stands alongside my SoB π
Might be staying with KK at this rate!
01.10.2025 18:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'll bookmark that thought for 3d prints, just in case!
The WA command box is actually very good, plenty of standards and command elements.
The YouTube video review of HeihΕ, lost me at 'grid', and compounded with the combat mechanism π
Leon is always open to a little nudge, and with taking a break from the show circuit, may give them that extra window of time to see these things through.
01.10.2025 16:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes Pendraken scales really well with the WA figures.
The plastic is a little brittle though, so the Nagae Yari do require a lot of care removing from the sprue.
I've wanted to do Sengoku for a long while, both sets of KK rules stashed in readiness, but could never settle on a figure range or scale. Then WA released their plastic range in 10mm, and that decided it for me, good qty at a good price.
01.10.2025 16:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cheers Gareth, will take a look, I've a mate that works for Helion, and know that Turnbull was offering support and advice at one point. Not that this makes them any good of course.

01.10.2025 05:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Has anyone taken a look at the HeihΕ set of rules by Helion for Samurai massed battles?
@adcpainting.bsky.social has this floated past your scrutiny?

28.09.2025 19:47 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Work continues on the T-54 Tiran.
Enamel wash to form a base layer of grime on the engine bay, acrylic chipping on high wear areas on the fighting compartment, followed by a raft of oils to add wear and filth.
Let this dry and then take stock for round two

Chris does a brilliant range of detail stuff. Need to partake myself.
22.09.2025 20:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've circled back to the T-54 Tiran, fiddly shit.
Completed the basic colours of the interior, including the engine. Added some weathering with the first acrylic layer of rust effects on the exhausts, then added the wiring loom. A quick dry fit, and she fits together beautifully.

Same here S1, superb! S2 I felt wasn't as strong.
19.09.2025 06:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A bit more progress on the KΓΆnigsberg today.
Railings, primary and secondary armaments added, cranes squeezed into place.
Finish off the paintwork, lifeboats to be completed and then added. Weathering, and rigging...... nearly there.

Cheers JC, so tricky to work on at this scale.
15.09.2025 06:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still very much WiP, a shelf queen that I needed to circle back to.
Flyhawk 1/700 KΓΆnigsberg as she was before loss at Narvik.
A productive afternoon, repainted the main deck colour, wooden decks, added details etc, not too much further till completion. He says optimistically.

My gaming buddy has a Tyranid army awaiting a thrashing, and a very good conversation with my lad inspired me to get the project moving.
The lad now thinks 6mm is a great idea and wants an IG force.
They are Vanguard, I've not found any decent 3d files for Sisters.
If you know of any would be very grateful as a few gaps are present in the OOB.
A test paint of an Archangel Seraphim base.
Nicely detailed figures for a small 6mm
A 'little' interlude to the modelling and historical stuff with prep work on my NetEpic Sisters of Battle.
Had the very first original Epic combined with the first Adeptus Titanicus, so a bit of a memory lane project.
Vanguard figures combined with various 3d prints.
Approx 5000 points.
Indeed

That's kinda my thought process. Why kerb creativity due to a trifling matter of space!
I have most of the components for a 35th German field repair platoon! That demands a lot of room! And lack of space is holding me back a little..... maybe once the lad has left home π€£
If I a) had the budget, and b) the space...... it would already be in progress. Sadly, I have neither currently π
That sounds like a great group build, especially with the 'Primitive War' film out soon, which would make some great references π€£
What a fun project!
I must admit I did have a crazy thought process of using the ICM Tarhe Skycrane and combining a 1/35 Dino mid lift.
Me too ..... me too
Too kind, but don't worry, there is still plenty of time to F@#k it up
