Someone told me recently, "There are people who make games, and there are people who finish them."

How do you go from a maker to a finisher?

Being on this app has motivated me more in my personal game dev project that anything I have ever come across. Seeing all the incredible thing people are making is so great.

I have always liked how Gwent did it, they have key words highlighted on the card and when you click on the card it does a full screen highlight with keywords defined beside it.

game dev pro tip:

if you're struggling with motivation, try setting realistic goals

like "today i will open the project folder"
or maybe even "today i will look at one (1) line of code"

Game designer here, I am curious to hear your thoughts on this. In a shooter, if someone cheats and modifies their health to be infinite, how is that the fault of the game designer?

There is obviously an incentive for the game to do well as if there is a sequel the publisher is likely to return to the original team.

Generally a dev studio is paid to deliver a game to the publishers, and then the publishers release the game and recieved the profit. Unless there is a revenue share set up, dev teams usually don't see any of the profit from sales.
