I didn’t do it cynically, but I soon discovered those staff are the ones who affect how you are perceived by the parents and local community. My most treasured compliment as a teacher came from my classroom cleaner, “I’ve seen shit teachers and you ain’t shit”.

I was a teacher and the way a lot of teachers treat cleaners and dinner ladies (often the same people) is disgusting. I hope you would never have had to bin my pens.
