Every time someone leaves the "to be" out of past participle phrasing (i.e., the blanket needs washed vs. to be washed), I feel like I've gone a little insane. Why is this a thing now? I don't want to be pedantic about grammar, but this one just irks me.

The pets and I are having an Unsolved Mysteries marathon (OG version with Robert Stack), and I cannot think of a better way to spend my Saturday.
