A large great gray owl drops into flight from its perch atop an old, dead spruce on a clear evening. It's large wings open like a cloak as it dives into what will be a hover.
Look out below! This great gray owl was hunting along the road near my cottage last month. When you get a good look at the wing like this, you can tell that it's a hatch year bird (less than a year old). After hatch year birds will have different coloured flight feathers as some are replaced. #birds

An image of the forest shrouded in a thick fog creating a ghostly, haunting scene. Even the details of the nearest trees are barely visibly and colours are washed out by the air, heavy with moisture. Beyond the first few trees the rest of the forest is completely obscured by fog. Thankfully I already know the way though here. It would be very easy to get lost on a day like that.
One of the foggiest days we've seen. Very little visibility with fog softening the outlines of trees and branches. So little light that colour is muted and subdued. A ghostly feel to it all.
