Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

We just came in from admiring the moon! It was massive at sunset and it's still beautiful right now, though at this time of year in the PNW it feels extra special just to see the moon at all :)

Groove-billed Anis are fabulous birds. A type of cuckoo, this species lives in social groups of up to 10 birds and they collectively guard their territory and even share a nest together!
These birds were taking a break today at @tapirvalley.bsky.social to groom each other.

A large wading bird with blue-gray feathers and long legs walks gracefully along a sandy beach. Behind it, the clear turquoise water transitions into deeper blue hues, with a small red boat floating on the horizon under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds.

One or two days per moon cycle I get a chance to improve on my moonfisher photography!
Here’s my latest attempt! She stayed on an awkward shaped perched and I was blocked from getting in position by bush
Ideally I wanted to put the moon lower and out further allowing her to “dive” into it

04.10.2025 11:47 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 4 📌 0A photo of a white and black jumping spider taken from the low front. The spider's body is covered in many fine hair-like scales. The legs are white with black bands. The spider's metallic green chelicerae can just be seen behind its floofy white and black pedipalps. The spider has a black downturned curved line along the lower part of it's white face. It's large eyes are black and glossy and there are 2 horn-like tufts on its head behind its eyes which give it a rather whimsical appearance.
This is not the earliest #Spider #Photo I have taken, but this is the Canopy Jumping Spider, Phidippus otiosus taken in November of 2005 which was near the start of my macrophotography journey! 😁

This is a black and white oddly proportioned bird, with black wings and tail and crown and white cheeks and belly and flanks. Her lower beak is longer than her upper beak, which is odd. The beak’s back half is red and its front half is black. The bird has little red stick legs and its red feet are so small they don’t even look like feet.

Some bivalves like to snuggle! Resting back to back provides safety in numbers: they can feel each other move in response to predators. Researchers put giant clams in arrays and found they quickly move into clumps. Scallops are more likely to cluster when threatened by predators! (284)
