We are more than props. We are people.

Black New Yorkers deserve more than an ex-Governor who sits in our pews on Sunday, and cuts our schools on Monday.

This new proposal from Zellnor Myrie is what it looks like to actually grapple with the city's needs. The point isn't whether you agree with all of it. By all means, come up with other ideas on a similar scale. The point is that this is the needed scale.

N.Y.C. Housing Plan Moves Forward With an Unexpected $5 Billion Boost A City Council committee passed a major proposal that would ease restrictions on housing growth in New York. The full Council is likely to approve it next month.

β€œEvery housing unit cut from this proposal represents another family that will have to leave New York City,” Zellnor Myrie said.

When my wife and I look at the cost of buying a home in our neighborhood, it feels impossible.

We need far more than the City of Yes β€” but it's a step in the right direction. I urge the Council to resist efforts to revise the proposal in any way that would yield fewer homes.
