They already cut down so many trees (USAID, CFPB, Dept of Edu, etc) that there aren't many left they can cut down without causing trouble for themselves. There are reasons why they stopped cutting where they did before the shutdown, and those reasons did not include a change of heart.

Trump totally does new awful stuff in part to "distract" from other awful things that aren't going his way, but that doesn't mean the new awful thing is trivial.

There's nothing wrong with opposing many things at once. We're decades into "the most noise usually wins" politics. We have to do it too.

Before the election, my focus group of Trump voters said their top priorities were lowering prices and releasing the Epstein files. Now the same respondents say their top priorities are building a gold ballroom for the White House and putting tariffs on Ford and GM.

Elon Musk is a symbol of American collapse in many ways, but one of the big ones is how for years he has constantly engaged in multi-billion-dollar securities and consumer fraud, and the "consequence" has been him making billions more, including from the federal government paying him directly.

Tedious to point this out, but:

- When a tongue-tied Biden said "President of Mexico" instead of "Prez of Egypt," it was a several day story.

-Hours after Trump says whoever appointed J Powell made a big mistake (it was him), the episode appears not to merit a story on any national-media sites.

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Mamdani should win but he's the latest example of the Democratic Party closing ranks to keep anyone young and exciting and full of energy out of the party - and then they spend countless millions on consultants trying to figure out why they're struggling with young voters

If people really find this to be such an easy conclusion, then Congressional authority should be easy to get.

So why don’t they insist on a vote?

They know this isn’t “progressive” resistance. They want to marginalize it as such because on top of this war being ILLEGAL, it’s also deeply unpopular.

The President's disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.

They’re going to try to make you feel insane for opposing this war. They’ll ignore protests and downplay any opposition. They’ll try to strongarm you into submission.

They did it with Iraq and they’ll do it again.

And then a few years later they’ll pretend they were with you all along.

But that leaves two possibilities:

1) they're bad people who know they voted to deport moms though they disagree with it
2) they're potato brains incapable of aligning their vote with their policy preferences

There's no way to welcome either; we can only hope they suffer economically and switch.

Trump officials' showings at hearings today were disasters, but it doesn't make headlines bc the media's default assumption is that Rs are clownish rascals.
