Tomorrow's gonna be something. I can already feel it.

I didn't take a math class in middle school. I think one year they wanted me to work through a trig textbook or something, by then I was already sick of performing tricks for the zoo patrons so I just refused.... and nobody made me do it.

That was a lesson they should not have taught me.

I had a weird childhood in some ways. Like, by that point, of course I would think to go to the OSU main library and get some articles or whatever. I'd been there a few times before, I knew how to search the system. I wish we'd had the internet then. Getting to Columbus was the hard part

The only thing I actually learned from this is that if you want to recycle something you wrote when you were 11 and you want an A or an A-, check the formatting of your citations. 11 year-old Clutchy did not use proper APA formatting or whatever. And we were explicitly instructed to do so. Ugh.

I also learned some inorganic chemistry. Neat.

Anyway, several years later, I was in a freshman composition class at OSU and we had to write a research paper. I decided it would be funny to turn in something I wrote when I was 11. Also easier than actually doing the assignment. I got an A-.

Thinking about various ways we were all going to die back in the 1980s and remembered that I wrote a little research paper about the Ozone Layer and CFCs in 1987 or 1988. It's a long story... but I was able to get to Columbus and get some journal articles from the OSU library and stuff. Nerd fun.

Spent much of my childhood wondering when the nuclear war would finally happen. It felt inevitable, and by then nobody pretended much of anything, anywhere, would survive. You were either going to die quickly or slowly, but you'd die. I'm weirdly disappointed it hasn't happened yet.

Think I'm gonna call in sick to my doctor's appt tomorrow.
