There is very little joy here for me anymore. This is not really a social platform. I tried to keep up with those I followed, but _few_ of those that followed me ever noticed my posts. Posts are only noticed when they contain popular and unpolluted hash tags; use the latest slang to be heard.

A large #cicada. Not as colorful as some we see here in Raleigh, NC, but the largest I've seen. I'm sorry I did not add an item for scale.

When the Decatur Stayleys football team moved to Chicago, they played their home games at the park where the Cubs play. The Staleys owner then changed their name to the Bears because the baseball team was named the Cubs.

RIP Tom Lehrer. You were a huge influence on me and developing my sense of humor from a very early age. Memorizing your songs with my friends in high school remains one of my happiest memories. Tom Lehrer fans have always been my kind of people. Thank you.

You know it's gonna be a bad day when… You discover that the slime running down your windscreen is inside the truck you are driving.

The windows on my old truck are almost never closed completely. I think a healthy slug decided to overnight inside it.

At T+16 days, we get some growth on the #mushrooms and a bonus #beetle.

A box #turtle and a trapdoor #spider.

I don't think I've seen this kind of spider in Raleigh before. Its body is around an inch long. It was not shy, and moved fast.

Nice find. I saw mobile homes with wooden extensions (kind of like this) during a trip to Alaska in the mid 1970s.

I'll use some hashtags to see if they catch the eye of an expert. The spacing of the windows makes me think it is a #train car, but it is smooth like a #bus or #trolley.
