It's not anime, but the pitch always gave me isekai vibes. It's just so different from basic isekai-style properties in a really great way. I still can't believe that I didn't jump on it sooner.

Damn it! I feel very foolish for sleeping on it. I just reached Chapter 4 in the first volume and it is AMAZING!

As stated above, Ayreon exposed me to a lot of other artists and one of them was Devin Townsend. Devin is a real talent and Strapping Young Lad is good stuff, but his side projects are the best IMHO. Check out Power Nerd.

Other progressive bands I fell in love with from that guy's collection were Dream Theater, Opeth, and Porcupine Tree. The first song I heard from Porcupine Tree was Blackest Eyes and I was all in!

Day Eleven: Love

In my 20s, I ended up working for a guy who was really into progressive metal, the top artist I landed on was Ayreon. Each album is a Metal opera composed of several artists from many other bands. Simply mind-blowing!

Outside of Metallica, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, and even Green Jellö my early metal years are not much to speak of. In college I found Hammerfall through a friend and it opened my eyes. I wanted more metal sub-genres.

Listening to a Spotify "Daily Mix" for Metal got me thinking. I discovered Metal back in 5th or 6th grade. My tastes in metal have become fairly eclectic over the years, but I tend to listen to more Symphonic Metal these days. Here are some of my Go-To bands/albums/songs, in no particular order:

At its core you need to roll 1, 2, or 3's on a die, so the d4 is the best and as you fail rolls, it shifts to larger dice until you go over d12 and exhaust the trait.

This would be amazing. I hate that Cortex Prime is just being sat on.

I do agree that powers got spammy, but I loved the ability to use the same Power Set, but use a different option within it to do fun and creative narrative things depending on whether attacking, defending, creating assets, or doing other non-combat things.
