30.06.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If we trust genetic engineering to save a child from leukemia, why reject it when it could save a child from blindness, malnutrition, or death?
We cure cancer with genetic engineering but ban it on the farm.
Celebrating one but demonizing the other fuels disinformation that costs lives.

I think it is perfectly valid to think of culture as a type of infection, after all there are beneficial parasitic relationships as well (like bacteriophages or probiotics)

Extraordinary!
Makes it easier to be optimistic about these kind of interventions.
The downside is: Some outlets actively promote misinformation that contradicts the content of the articles, for example by publishing alongside comments that say the opposite. It is hard to see an article as positive when it is followed by dozens of comments saying everything written is a lie.
