I have decided to stay in Gaza City as Israel seeks to wipe it out I know the horror of being besieged and bombed, but I will not leave. I reject the slow death of forced displacement.

Just a minor point: Old Norse and Icelandic 'urðun' should be 'urðum'. The -n form exists as a noun meaning 'disposal, bury sth in the ground'.

Just a fun note: Icelandic 'éta (or 'eta') is typically only used for animals — or with negative connotations, to eat aggressively (a litle like Dutch 'vreten'). The general verb is 'borða' (lit. to table), but you basically 'table' everything, also candy on a Saturday, or wild berries in the field.

In Icelandic you usually 'whip' a car, i.e. keyra bíl — keyri being a horse whip.
