Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

Samuel Cuthell United States Biosphere Network Steering... 2d β’ Edited Are you an American who drinks water? If so, here is a wonderfully dystopian reality playing out right now in Congress that may interest you. Here's the summary: There are 250+ million acres of land eligible for sale under the new bill. 3.3 million of it will be sold, with the majority sold in 30 days, with 13.5 million possibly sold after. There will be NO hearings or public comment on land being sold, almost as if they already have buyers lined up. The Forest Service is the largest source of municipal water in our country. Urban areas are included in this. Portland, LA, Denver, and Atlanta specifically receive a huge portion of this water. Wanna fact check this? For sale map link: https://Inkd.in/gjfDegSm Water map: https://lnkd.in/gNDfJvgZ Water info: https://Inkd.in/gqrYakEA. This is terrifying, isn't it? Almost like the plotline of the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, where a bunch of evil billionaires leverage a corrupt despot to buy the right to a vast reserve of water. What a crazy, prophetic, horrifying coincidence of a time we live in. If you drink water in the United States and want to continue to be able to do so, below is a link to contact your senators and specifically demand they stop this legislation from passing. But please, don't stop there. Tell everyone you know and contact your senators every day. Make sure you specifically talk about keeping Forest Service land and restoring their funding.
Samuel Cuthell 2d United States Biosphere Network Steering... Congressional Phone Call Script: Hello [name], I am a constituent from [city, state], and I'm calling to express serious concern about the proposed bill that would allow the sale of our Forest Service and BLM land. The Forest Service is the largest source of municipal water in our country. This water directly impacts 33 states, spanning rural areas and major cities like Portland, Los Angeles, Denver, and Atlanta, which receive a significant portion of their water from the Forest Service. The land eligible for sale matches the land with the highest water sources. This isn't about trees, but about water. Under this bill, citizens won't even be able to comment on the land being sold, almost as if they have buyers lined up. This is a threat to multi-trillion dollar industries, our local economy, our national economy, the tax burdens of our citizens, and our very own lives. I urge you to prioritize this being removed from the bill.
