I know that if first responders can't communicate during a mass emergency, people can die. I made it clear to the FirstNet Authority that our first responders need reliable, resilient, & fully funded FirstNet communication systems, especially during wildfires, extreme heat, floods, and emergencies.

Today, thanks to the U.S. District Court that deemed DHS 7 day notice request unlawful, I was granted access to Adelanto on my third visit.

It took 3 visits and a court order to allow me entrance to Adelanto Detention Center to provide oversight and investigate conditions inside.

I introduced legislation to ensure that non-criminal immigrants and U.S. citizens receive their basic needs and are treated humanely.

Being in the community feeds my soul. It was great joining the Indio Black History Month Celebration and recognizing my friend, Councilmember Waymon Fermon who served as the City of Indio’s first Black Mayor and all the ceremony’s honorees who make a difference daily.

I strongly condemn the violent actions of ICE and CBP against non-criminal immigrants and U.S. citizens! The failure of leadership at DHS under Secretary Kristi Noem is unacceptable and she must go. We need accountability, transparency, and humane enforcement: NOW.

ICE is out of control and needs to be reined in. Their violence and brutality against non-criminal immigrants and U.S. citizens must end. Dramatic changes at DHS are needed, starting with impeachment and removing Kristi Noem.

I took to the House floor to denounce the out of control ICE violence and brutality against non-criminal immigrants and U.S. citizen and called for the impeachment and removal of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. I demand accountability, transparency, and justice, now.

There is an alarming rise in deaths of individuals in ICE and CBP custody and reports of inhuman conditions within detention centers. That’s why I introduced the Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in ICE and CBP Custody Act, to prevent deaths and protect human dignity.

The law is clear.

Members of Congress need to be able to observe, investigate, and provide oversight over ICE and CBP detention centers to prevent death and protect human dignity.

Watching the lack of consequences regarding all the names in the Epstein files (redacted and not) is devastating.

But also not unexpected. There is a reason women so rarely report. They know the men rarely face any penalties. And apparently the networking men do while ****ing helps keep them safe.

Today at Sun City Palm Desert, I stood alongside over 100 community members speaking out against ICE’s brutality in Minnesota and here at home. Their actions are meant to tear families apart and spread fear through violence. We have had enough. #melttheice

I will never stop fighting for my constitutional right as a member to provide oversight & investigate the administration & reports of abuse inside detention centers.

2025 was the deadliest year in over 20 years with more than 56 individuals dying while in ICE & CBP custody. I met with immigration advocates, lawyers, and faith-based leaders in order to create humanitarian standards at detention centers to prevent deaths and protect human dignity.

Respectability is overrated

I joined Rep. Aguilar, Rep. Takano, and immigration advocates to discuss the escalating violent actions by DHS throughout the country.

That is why I am calling for the impeachment of Secretary Noem and for an independent investigation into the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by DHS agents.

Decognitizing?

Oh dear Lord, some days this platform is literally like watching peacocks painting their feathers. Tone it down people, you can't outdo everyone else every day. There's art and other creative stuff people post to enjoy, you know.

Probably not the janitors getting minimum wage and the people who handle payroll because they got assigned there by their bosses, though.

Sounds less RAH GO TEAM GO, but I think ICE over generalizing and deciding any immigrant is a good immigrant to deport, isn't solved by the reciprocal mindset.

So very angry right now. I saw an agent walk away with a gun and afterwards, they shot and killed 37 year old VA ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti in cold blood. I have seen many videos, from many angles from many observers and not once did I see Alex behave violently or have a gun in his hands.

Noem needs to be impeached and she along with all agents involved in this homicide need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. ICE must be dismantled before these shootings escalate.

Kristi Noem is telling ICE agents they can forcibly enter your home without a judicial warrant.

That is unconstitutional.

History will judge us if we do not stand up to the lawlessness and cruelty of this administration.
