I'm really tired of seeing this blame of the left wing politicians and voters for "letting the right in". Those who supported this Labour government as they aped reform and trampled their left flank are responsible for what happens at the next election. Hold them responsible maybe??

I agree on need to reduce cars 💯. But the crossrail north proposal to tunnel under the city for east west trains means more track space for local trains to be more frequent and reliable, which is the carrot to reduce car usage in the city. It's part of the solution.

@aaronjbastani.bsky.social Really disappointed to hear you sum up the degrowth movement as "stop vacuuming your house" on NM. It's far more nuanced than that, and allows for some sectors to grow while others shrink. Limits exist that we need to transition within, not exceed.

Universal benefits like UBI can be reclaimed from the wealthiest through taxation. You just need a government willing to make "tough decisions" and tax the richest, not the poorest.
