Maybe that's preaching to the choir, but my parents were wise enough to recognize me getting flinced and sit me down to have a talk with me that there were actually cold hearted people in the world.

The internet has really helped a lot of people get out of sticky situations financially, it has also made getting flinced way easier. The people who would pantomime being a victim of and exploiting a major crisis have /zero/ qualms about ripping a random off and putting them in a mutual aid situ.
