Rare personal post because I need to vent: I asked out a good friend earlier this week and she turned me down. I don't know if I'm more sad about the rejection or the risk that I've ruined many years of friendship. Only time will tell with that. Shame, we'd had such a fun day together up til then 😞

I spotted a really weird headline on BBC News yesterday(left) which had been reworded a few hours later (right). I'd bet money that the original headline was someone proudly asking AI to summarise the article in less than 10 words.

After spotting a bit of a drought in junior developer roles lately, I'm thinking that these people at the top and their weird excitement about AI are a bigger problem than AI itself.

Today I applied for a software developer job. The recruiter emailed shortly after with a "revelant" suggested vacancy based on what I'd just applied to:
