16.02.2026 21:30 β π 28 π 15 π¬ 0 π 0βSomeday this warβs gonna end.β
16.02.2026 18:45 β π 47 π 15 π¬ 1 π 0Hell, even five years.
15.02.2026 22:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think a huge part of the collective economic misery is also our eraβs permanent state of job insecurity regardless of performance/financial health of employer. If i were guaranteed 20 more years at my workplace at even my current salary, Iβd feel infinitely better about literally everything.
15.02.2026 22:16 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβd go with more stuff as a shirt layer imo. More potential outfit combos.
15.02.2026 22:08 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pie in the sky horseshit, of course, but I do continually wonder where guys like this think their revenue will come from if the middle class has no money to buy anything anymore.
14.02.2026 00:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It both drives me crazy that the βhumanities are uselessβ canard that has become common sense, including in the humanities, is based in zero facts AND it proves the power of resonant argument. It arose as an answer to the problem of precarity. Dead wrong, but confidently and consistently presented.
13.02.2026 20:49 β π 45 π 10 π¬ 1 π 0Most people I know only watch a movie now if it has a lot of social media buzz and they feel the need to have an opinion about it.
13.02.2026 15:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Metaβs internal memo said the political tumult in the United States was good timing for the featureβs release. βWe will launch during a dynamic political environment where many civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns,β according to the document from Metaβs Reality Labs, which works on hardware including smart glasses.
this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where β at a bare minimum β they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

The only 'hope' to be found here is in its existence, an artistic proof of humanity's self-awareness, our constant fear of what we've wrought, of how much more destruction & suffering we're capable of inflicting on our own existence in the world, of the futures we can still prevent.
12.02.2026 21:36 β π 12 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Shoes too, please. Next pair of 'dress sneakers' I see accompanying a suit, I will feed to wearer.
12.02.2026 17:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@hardin.bsky.social sigh
12.02.2026 15:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh no no, it doesn't all. Didn't mean to make it seem like I was giving you attitude. Just commiserating.
12.02.2026 15:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The cis immigrants do, believe me.
12.02.2026 14:59 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm sure thatβs true. Just curious the frequency with which OP sees this happen anecdotally. As an LPR myself, this shit keeps me up at night.
12.02.2026 14:01 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Are you seeing a lot of LPRs snatched off the street? Is there even a ghost of a pretext or rationale?
12.02.2026 11:39 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0(I should probably clarify that I don't think all math teachers are horrible. Quite the opposite. I just wish my experience with them hadn't been so awful)
11.02.2026 16:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reporting back to say the first episode was excellent. @hardin.bsky.social the protagonist works at a Home Depot equivalent and makes up stuff about tools to mess with customers.
11.02.2026 16:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The cruelest teachers I had in school in 90s India were math teachers. I'll never forget middle school algebra (we were kids!) when a teacher wrote a lowercase 'a' on the board and banged a kid's head into it for using uppercase alphabets in his work. Math = terror. I dove into the humanities.
11.02.2026 16:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Everyday I see iterations like this in every tech product I use. Convinced those companies are still so bloated even in their layoff eras that there are entire teams justifying their 500k salaries by coming up with/reversing stuff like this.
11.02.2026 14:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0THE LAST DRAGONERS OF BOWBAZAR limited ed N. American hardcover is officially out of print, & no longer available. My BFA-winning book about a family of interreal refugees in 90s/00s Calcutta is still available as an ebook, & a paperback in S. Asia. Shares appreciated, reads even more so:
09.02.2026 16:30 β π 48 π 39 π¬ 3 π 2Lovely. Right on cue. The rich freak shows will have us all dead before letting their stupid fucking investments go. There needs to be full disclosure of βAIβ involvement in surgical practices.

06.02.2026 23:01 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I dream of having enough stability in our culture that anyone who wants to can pursue the arts, but the meaning comes from that pursuit, from translating human experiences through skills acquired over time. Art is labor, but it isn't just some commodity that can be pulped and reconstituted.
06.02.2026 17:39 β π 1312 π 171 π¬ 4 π 5Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams
06.02.2026 17:36 β π 8990 π 3022 π¬ 81 π 85We could fix a lot of things if we agreed as a society that proximity to money is not an measure of merit, and at certain scales, it is in fact a pretty reliable indicator of lack of merit.
06.02.2026 18:43 β π 34 π 8 π¬ 2 π 0FWIW, I picked it up last July at a Lionsgate Limited flash sale linked to by one of the physical media accounts on here. Hopefully another batch will pop up?
05.02.2026 22:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As Dan says, more than worth it. One of my favorite recent acquisitions.
05.02.2026 22:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I'd only ever seen it on VHS and a subpar DVD so it really felt like the first time I was watching the movie properly.
