She's either barking at everything or nothing; some days I'm not sure even she knows.

"preferably from us" - my favourite bit.

I find it hard to fully explain Private Eye to non-Brit friends other than: here, just read it.

I feel that the entire planet should stand still for a day to think about the millions of life forms killed at Hiroshima, including innocent humans, because idiotic humans cannot find a way of sharing the vast resources of this planet between themselves, let alone everything else that lives here.

This would not have been a problem for Sid James. Never before or since has a man looked so much like one of his own testicles.

Lounging on the back deck watching an insane amount of satellites glide gracefully overhead. When did all that get up there?

And a shooting star!

50 points for each in Usborne's Spotters Guide to the Night Sky.

I've beat 7-year-old-me's annual score in one night.

The underlying voting system is flawed; both examples show a terrible outcome. With the first set of boundaries a whopping 40% of people don't have representation, with the second set the minority party is awarded more seats. Neither is fair. Implement PR like Europe and sidestep this archaic mess.

I had lots from all across the province, but only one was really mine to keep. I chose this design, with the doggies on, of course. Libraries rule!

A sadly familiar lament.

So many people who know it's wrong and simply don't want to be reminded of it as they tuck into their double-burger with cheese. "Out of sight, out of mind".

We need to get the message onto food packaging, billboards, everywhere.

Apparently they'll ask your mum to confirm your age. She'll then knock on your door to let you know if it's alright to carry on.

The reply:

"Sorry Arthur, Phillip's been awfully frisky the past few days, ever since we went to the South Sea islands. I can't get away from him. Also one of the corgi's has worms, terrible mess on the furniture.

Will sneak down soon when he's passed out on whisky and meds. Hugs and Kisses, ER."

This morning my laptop claimed it was not charging when plugged in but charging when unplugged. The battery percentage was even rising. Freaky.

Well of course I began writing an announcement for the discovery of limitless free energy when the cursed thing died on me.

Now it's behaving again. Damn.

Sadly they don't think about it at all. Drawings of smiling cows on wrappings, and milk commercials showing cows grazing in spacious, sunny fields don't break the spell.

Cigarette packets (here) explicitly show harm caused. Maybe dairy and meat products should show how animals are kept and killed.

It's more fitting for him to stay in the photo - and maybe even added to ones he wasn't in - because that tournament represents all that is wrong with football and its governance.

Joel Veitch (youtube: Classic Rathergood) played with this idea a lot. Special mention to Mick Hucknall's "Bunny's too tight to mention."

They read our minds. (Apparently) silent vibrating watch alarm, door shut and still the dogs know. They also make it clear that the door will be shredded if I am not up and feeding them within the next two minutes. No I cannot go for a pee first, do not even think of putting the kettle on.

I love that stuff.

Spray what appears to be the right amount amount into a gap. Watch as it expands and expands and expands to become the Foam Monster.

Forget Dark Energy, the expansion of the universe was caused by the first person to open a can of this.

Pebbles has had a most excellent 2nd birthday celebration, with much barking and the consumption of many, many fine treats, and would appreciate it if everybody would kindly naff off for a few hours while she recovers.

#Eurovision & FA Cup finals on the same day is just magic. I love both.

But also how in my 52 years on this planet do I know enough about football to see the Palace win from a mile off (good on yer!) yet still have no sodding clue who will win Eurovision?

I was sure Finland was going to storm it.

It widens from using AI to assist work to using AI to avoid work.

Some pass off AI generated code as their own. When I ask them to explain how the code works they have no clue.

Some cheat on a *computer ethics* assignment by using AI to generate their arguments. I have run out of irony meters.

Good on you! Also a huge thank you for standing up to her for the wider benefit. You wouldn't have been the only person she treated that badly, some who didn't feel able to stand up for themselves. Not tolerating behaviour like that helps others.

The lack of respect some people have for their partners, coupled with severe situational myopia.

Anyone who had to put up with a partner who pulled stunts like this can tell you that long term if you can't change this you could be heading towards a metaphorical pothole in the road.
