We were up, 9 to 8, and I went alone and took all the tricks. (Yeah, showboating)
That scores 4 points. Euchre ends when a team scores 10 or more points, so this is the max possible.

I'm simultaneously bummed and relieved about that. I think on this first go, which will have a major work component, I'll be glad to bug out and go sleep.

I wonder whether this is a US, or maybe midwest US, vs Europe and the US coastal areas.

I grew up with 5pm dinner too. My wife and I are closer to 6pm.

When I visit the eastern US areas, nobody starts talking about dinner options until 6 or later.

All generalizations, but 6 isn't weird to me.

I just found out that that last part is not so much a thing at Essen. You mentioned consumerism - it sounds like Essen is that x7.

Hehehe. My wife and I sometimes watch “House Hunters International” on HBO. In each episode, an American (or a couple) is moving somewhere overseas. We cringe at all the stupid things they say; usually complaints about size and design. They want old world charm, with room for a king sized bed.

4 episodes into the new season of “Strange New Worlds” and I gotta say like it feels like they’re losing their way. The characters are there and still likable, but the plot/writing is just… all over the place.
Episode 4 had a few bright spots. Some clever homages to the real-world drama behind TOS.

1 board game, 4 decks of cards, 2 puzzles, and 6 promo items.

I’m not upset that my Gen Con hauls get smaller each year. I’d rather keep my FLGSs afloat.

1st con after Covid

Love spending a few days with my son, Alex. He enjoys games, but he spends most of his time hanging with the artists.

At #gencon2025, Corey Young (l) demoes 3 Witches, a three-player-only trick-taking game with only 18 cards in which each round two people must partner to take down the third. Due out in late 2025 from Allplay.
