01.10.2025 00:24 β π 67 π 19 π¬ 1 π 1Do you know what happened to Isaiah Saville? Seemed decent in AHL, was on the bench for a couple NHL games in 2324, then just didnβt play 2425 season despite having a contract (per Puckpedia).
Did he officially retire?
The Bisons are thrilled to welcome winger Porter Martone to the herd, selecting the RW with the 3rd overall selection in the 2025 SICHL entry draft.

βWe are open to moving back in the draftβ announced GM King, βSo make an offer if thereβs a specific player you want to land.β
Ken Dryden played only 7 full NHL seasons, and this is what he did in them:
1971: Conn Smythe + Cup
1972: Calder Trophy
1973: Vezina + Cup
1974: Sits out (contract dispute) and earns his law degree
1976: Vezina + Cup
1977: Vezina + Cup
1978: Vezina + Cup
1979: Vezina + Cup
What the NHL gets wrong in sticking with a decentralized draft.

β¨don't fight anybody on the golf course who has his own HockeyFights pageβ¨
Basic defensive play messed up then bad pitch with 2 strikes. π¬

I am going to make this a thread, as links do weird stuff to post engagements, and I want to make sure that everyone that wants to see this does.
Baby bison zoomies alert! π¨ Meet Samson, the newest (and speediest) member of our Free-Roaming Area herd. Born over Memorial Day Weekend, this fluffy little calf has already mastered the art of sprinting joyfully across 435 acres of forested fields like he owns the place. π¦¬

Keep going; S3E1 is the yin to its yang. A soothing balm. I am going to rewatch it over and over. I immediately added the backing music track to my library for mindfulness moments but Iβll say no more.

30.05.2025 02:53 β π 27 π 13 π¬ 1 π 6βCongrats to @sichlschooners.bsky.social GM E.S. for knowing the playoff waiver rules and getting those top guys to the farm early. Though we got our eligible skaters to the GHA for game 2, them having a top goalie was in our heads,β said Bison GM G.K. βThey outplayed us and deserved the win.β
27.05.2025 21:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0With the Bisons knocked out in SICHL round 1 to the Vipers, and the GHA Vampires done in round 2, the franchiseβs season is officially concluded.
Management will take a break then start reviewing off-season activities like the draft and free agency.
REG has many pending UFAs who wonβt be back.
It was a tamer affair than the Game 4 parade to the box, but it ended no better for for the Vampires, who lost 3-1 to the Clippers, ending the series in 5.
CBR played smothering D and limited SCV to only 12 shots. The undead managed only a last minute goal to spoil a third SO for Skinner.
Schooner top goalie Stu Skinner continued his minor league show-off tour and the Clippers shut out the Vampires for the 2nd time in GHA round 2 action. CBR won 2-0 on 2/11 PP success while SCV went 0/6 in a game barely played at 5-on-5.
Santa Carla heads home down 3-1 to stave off elimination.
The Santa Carla Vampires jumped to a 2-0 lead against the home Cape Breton Clippers in game 3 of their GHA series. Mark Jankowski potted 2 on the PP.
A scoreless 2nd had SCV feeling good heading to the 3rd but CBR struck 3 times in the first 6 mins to take a 3-2 lead that they held to the buzzer.
GHA vet Conor Sheary notched his first of the playoffs on the PP just 3 mins into the extra frame to give the hometown fans a chance to launch their rubber bats on the ice.
Santa Carla was punitive of Clipper misdeeds, going 3/7 on the PP while holding the visitors 0/5 with the extra skater.
The Santa Carla Vampires rebounded with a 3-2 OT victory over NSβs Cape Breton Clippers in Game 2 of their GHA matchup.
The parent club Bisons reinforced SCV with 6 βdemotionsβ from the big club, and 2 of them - Pettersson & Bogosian - scored 3rd period goals in a comeback to tie it at 2.
Skinner earning 1st star stood out!
24.05.2025 00:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Skinner wouldβve had to pass through waivers to join CBR in the regular season, but there are no waiver claims in effect during the playoffs.
REG GM G.K. learned of this rule only after the first game of the GHA series, and will be sending several Bisons to SCV to help out.
The GHA Vampires were shut-out 3-0 by @sichlschooners.bsky.social βs Clippers.
The wily NS GM E.S. sent SICHL Schooners starting goalie Stuart Skinner down to the farm to earn the SO, despite a full season with the top club and a loss to the Rockies in the 1st round.
The Bisonsβs GHA affiliated Santa Carla Vampires will face @sichlschooners.bsky.social farm team, the Cape Breton Clippers, in round 2 of the LΓ©vesque Conference playoffs.
The series is expected to be a tight battle, as SCV and CBR registered 118 and 116 pts respectively in the regular season.
Bisons falling off a cliff
βPeople talk about momentum and it just seems there wasnβt any in the series,β said Nick Suzuki. βYouβd think an 8-2 win would give it to us but they came back and took the next 2. Thereβs no such thing.β
The team packed up to head home and clean out their lockers, wondering what could have been.
βWe threw everything at them. We just couldnβt break through Bob. Itβs tough when you look at the stats for the series to come out on the wrong end.β
Schenn refers to REG outscoring VAV 22-20 and outshooting them 234-204 over the 7 games.
Each had 6 PPG but REG marked on 21 chances to VAVβs 25.
Bisons lose 2-0 to the Vipers in game 7 in Vancouver, ending the Regina squadβs season. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 41 shots he faced, besting Linus Ullmarkβs 31/33 effort.
Capt. Brayden Schenn, who has played in all 3 seasons for REG, is a UFA and may not be back next year, was despondent.
An injury to checking winger Drew OβConnor will see him miss the next few weeks.
For Game 7, the Bisons are contemplating going with 11F and 7D, returning the recently benched Carson Soucy to the lineup.
