Like the NTSB, I often wish the CSB had more teeth. π They do a great job with their public communication it would be a massive loss to have them (further) defunded.

Cursed knowledge learned today:
thumbv8 targets (like the RP2350!) start with their memory marked as "non-sharable" at boot, meaning that atomics between the processors *don't actually work*, until you either set the regions sharable in the MPU, or set a global "everythings sharable" flag.

Rules for Interrupt Safety:
1. Always Keep Interrupts Vectored in a Safe direction
2. Treat All Interrupts as Though They are Enabled
3. Keep Your Event Sources Disabled Until You are Ready to Handle Them
4. Always Be Sure of Your Vector Target and Whatβs Beyond It

The ARM/Keil and IAR toolchains both have a couple compression schemes they can use for .data on microcontrollers. It's been a while since I've used them, but I think they'll even exhaustively search the different compressors to find which is optimal on a per-section basis.
