I don't understand why there's not more people talking about it(at least in my circles), because it's an incredible read every month. I actually can't wait to get this in trade(hopefully hardcover DC!) so I can recommend or loan it to friends.

It's insane how good this book is. @markwaid.bsky.social @chrissamnee.bsky.social @matlopes.bsky.social are doing incredible work here & my only gripe is that there's only 1 issue left. So if it's not too much trouble @dc.com could we possibly get a Yr 2 or an ongoing to follow this? 🙏

Think I'm gonna skip the Marvel issue of Batman/Deadpool, mostly because it's written by Zeb Wells.

True. I'm just continually amazed that people will fall for this type of thing and be left with a book that's ultimately not gonna have any worth other than being the subject of an article on CBR at some point in the next five years.

Watters is a really good writer, Dark Patterns is evidence enough of that, but it just feels like he's treading water on this book. There's glimpses of good stuff, the annual was great, as is everything with Maggie Sawyer. But everything else has been just....there.

12 issues in, & Nightwing has done not a lot and the big bad has done not a lot either. It's a very well written nothing though, I'll give it that.

Strange one. The controversy is attached to the creator more than anything, while the book itself is pretty much a nothing burger of an issue. So you'd be overpaying for what exactly?

Just watched it for the 5th? time. And for me, it's now firmly in that category of movies that I can rewatch over and over till my heart's content.

I've not listened to it yet, but I've got a ton of time for Rucka. Met him a few times and he's a good dude.

I hadn't heard of her either until the initial announcement and decided to follow her to get a feeling for what the book would be like. Let's just say I started to get a not too pleasant picture of what we might've been in for.

And I'm stressing that it was to do with the writing, not the person.

They should just Elseworlds it, because the only connection from that story to the main Bat continuity just got cancelled, and no one is bothered because Fraction's run feels like a continuation from Zdarsky's.

...body horror into it that I just can't take look away from. Hats off to both artists btw. Dragotta and Sherman are doing incredible work here. Sherman in particular blows my mind every month with their panel work. 10/10 for both and a hearty recommendation. Buy them, read them, thank me later.

Had a great time reading these two. Batman Dark Patterns is, in my opinion, one of if not the best Bat book on the shelves. Modern and fresh, but undeniably classic in feel. I adore it. Absolute Batman is a close second, because it's just so damn unpredictable and has infused a level of grotesque...

Background checks, including social media posts, is a standard procedure when we're hiring staff. I've had to do it myself. So I agree that this is on DC as much as anyone else. Also agree that Spokes & the rest of the creatives have been let down by both sides.

...The Target, as odd single issues that never got finished/followed up on.

I don't think yesterday's events were the reason for the cancellation, but rather the tipping point. Although quite how DC wasn't aware of what the writer was like online before they hired them, is a mystery.

As for Red Hood, this issue will get filed away with the likes of Daredevil/Bullseye...
