I realized today that even when it’s supportive—I’m becoming cyncinal in today’s US media & constantly questioning the messaging, the dates news releases, after the agenda the US media has pushed out the last few days here. My cynical side wonders if the timing & update of this article on the 10th/11th is the USA Media trying to capture & build off the horrific tragedy in our country that the states media is trying to make about gender identity & push a narrative about the trans community in our country-I hope not.

This post hits really hard today I think for everyone in Canada. Especially for B.C. So much support for the community is needed. I hope allies are listening and willing to help.

I get this. Honestly my kid still brings up Rime, we had to get through it together because the emotional stuff was so big. My kid was always deep and wanting stories on a deeper level.

Can you imagine what the doc could learn with inquiry rather than info dismissed as trivial.

So grateful of my privilege and am actually thankful for this spoonie life that allows and affords me to be there for him. I don’t know how others do it.

Thanks Deborah. It’s all good. He lives to ride and climb and explore another day. This mom was just a little frazzled yesterday. 🥰

He did all the right things! This mom is so proud :)

To tell him to come home. We grew our village by one today. So even though it was a scary and a stressful day and it’s caused me to have a bit of a need to process it (melt down) which I don’t think is bad. I’m actually really happy. He was safe. He called home.

My daughter informed her I was a retired nurse which the lady replied that made a lot more sense. Turns out she knows my child quite well. She had been feeling bad about misgendering him for his long hair to him and apologized to me. I said if he’s been there too long-because we let him go sometimes

I’ll spare everyone the bloody gauze photos and fingers. But I am pretty impressed with my nursing skills having been solidly retired (on leave) now for 8 years) Comes back like riding a bike. The corner store lady said I was the calmest mom she had ever heard because I got the call there.

For the record I don’t drink. Like ever. Because of the autoimmune. But I totally have a new understanding of my Nana. Especially knowing my Dad was known to bring snakes home and try to show her from the other side of the bathroom door.

When your feral tween who refuses being caged inside-wants to be independent & free; calls not text “Mom I’m bleeding you need to come get me now!”
Two things come to mind: I’m grateful for my BSn in nursing degree & pediatric experience & 2 I now know why nana drank starting at 4:30pm #nervesshot
