It was a great pleasure to join fellow politicians, Rabbi Rose and other members of Cardiff's Jewish community this evening for the Chanukah Menorah lighting at the Senedd. The recent sad events in Bondi were very much in our thoughts.

Ultra-processed food is global health threat, experts warn It is increasing our risk of a range of chronic diseases, including obesity and depression, a major review says.

The Welsh Govt needs to take this seriously, starting by updating its obesity strategy to take account of the latest research on the impact of ultra-processed foods. We need to consider how these foods that we all consume are impacting our health.

Delighted to see the Senedd finally voted to bring in the regulations governing when Welsh public bodies must conduct Health Impact Assessments. I led on the policy work for this for @bmacymru.bsky.social when our lobbying led to it being included in the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017.

And for those whose claims we can't process within 3 months, we should allow them to work so they can contribute and support themselves. We also need to recognise that Brexit has been a significant cause of the huge rise in numbers crossing the channel in small boats. [2/2]
