perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didn’t take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.

Hopefully the whole Bari Weiss thing and Ezra Klein thing starts waking people up to the fact that corporate media is mostly populated with mediocre people who have made millions and gained unbelievable influence because they threaten nothing and tell wealthy people exactly what they want to hear.

Federal agents shoot woman on Southwest Side, battle protesters for hours The shooting occurred Saturday in Brighton Park when federal patrols were "rammed by 10 cars," according to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, an account that has yet to be verified...

🚨 ICE used teargas, rubber bullets against protesters and shot a woman with real bullets today in Chicago. Looking at these photos I can’t believe this is my country πŸ’”

Jane Goodall, Eminent Primatologist Who Chronicled the Lives of Chimps, Dies at 91

Thank you, Dr. Jane Goodall, for changing the way we think about chimps and the natural world. RIP to a trailblazer and brilliant scientist.

This is a VERY well crafted lawsuit.
1) Plaintiff is natural born.
2) He was detained 2X in a fast-growing part of Alabama, not in a city that Brett Kavanaugh could be easily duped into believing was all migrants.
3) Unwarranted detentions were on private property.
4) He showed Real ID both times.

The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are easy to underestimate because they act like idiots, but they should not be treated as idiots.

They are dangerous fascists with power and a plan.

Democrats must act, and Republicans with any dignity left need to wake up

I REPEAT: the feds ordered his arrest even though he wasn’t breaking any laws.

The offense for which Kimmel got suspended, too much confidence without evidence that Kirk was killed by someone further to his right, *directly* parallels what people on the right including Laura Loomer, Mike Cernovich, Elong Musk, and Sen. Mike Lee, did after the Minnesota killings.

I don’t have a lot of sympathy for very wealthy, privileged people who are capitulating to fascism and/or staying silent because they’re β€œscared.” People are being dragged out of their homes and people who could be next are *still* speaking up. Silence won’t protect you but it emboldens them

The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.

Canceling Jimmy Kimmel show is not about Charlie Kirk, just like going after universities was not about antisemitism and occupying DC was not about fighting crime.

People are wondering how this'll look in action since 'Antifa' is an ideology not a centralized organization but remember when every baby, child & medical practitioner in Gaza was secretly Hamas for the past 23 months?

So I think it'll look like whatever's convenient to jam you up at any given time

New York, November 22, 2006-The Committee to Protect Journalists marked its 25th anniversary
by honoring four journalists with its 2006 International Press Freedom Awards in a
ceremony Tuesday night which highlighted record-setting attacks on the press in Iraq.
More than 850 people attended the benefit dinner which raised $1.3 million. It was co-chaired by Robert A. Iger, president and chief executive officer of the Walt Disney Company, and John S.
Carroll, the Knight Visiting Lecturer at the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University. Christiane Amanpour, CNN's Chief International Correspondent and CPJ board member, hosted the dinner.

I’m old enough to remember when Bob Iger, whose company recently paid $16 million to settle a meritless Trump lawsuit, and who just indefinitely suspended Jimmy Kimmel under pressure from the Trump administration, was a chair for the **Committee to Protect Journalists** dinner.

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.
