The crisis of affordability is a crisis of debt. Public goods that should be public and reparative are so costly and expensive that we're going into debt for things that are free in other nations — education, health care, school lunch, expensive rents, even going into debt for our own incarceration.

And yeah, I'm pretty bummed about the impending liquidation of my department by vandals and scammers who think they're entitled to be hailed as transformative visionaries.

None of us in this college are losing our jobs right now, but this restructuring (with the elimination of all departments) is paving the way for some layoffs in the next 1-3 years.
