How do you explain Fetterman, who was allegedly the most "real person" Senator dems have? Just saying

And yes, the Senate is supposed to be much more immune to popular pressure BY DESIGN.

The Senate is a much different beast than the house. How the house operates encourages the caucus to stick together. The nature of the Senate does not.

The dem caucus is like herding cats even when your in the majority. What leverage does a dem minority leader have over members? He's going to threaten to not vote on a bill they like?

I see people calling for Schumer's head (even though he opposed) because of "failed leadership" which I mean fine as long as you recognize no one else would have magically stopped this.

Trump being like "do you think Biden could have done this" with things he literally did

I 100% agree that AI has to be a managed resource, though. It can speed up research (if that's what you are doing) as long as you are capable of verifying it, but it absolutely needs knowledgeable supervision.

The impetus was being thrown into the project unexpectedly and not really knowing what I was doing. But Ive also learned as the process has gone on and so my reliance on AI has lessened as that's happened.

Ive actually gotten some use of AI at work, namely helping me create custom drupal modules.

Does it have its problems? Absolutely. It probably also matters how I use it. But, from experience, Ive never been on the "AI always bad" train.

But I can certainly see how it can be abused.

The Shutdown of U.S.A.I.D. Has Already Killed Hundreds of Thousands The short documentary β€œRovina’s Choice” tells the story of what goes when aid goes.

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Didn't Trump accept a whole ass plane from Qatar or something?

Instead of learning their lesson that causing more pain just makes people angrier at them, republicans are going to keep making things harder with the hope that maybe this time dems will break.

Dems are less at risk of that because the midterms favor them.

Aren't all these R redistricting just going to make their margins thinner? Won't it turn districts that need a 10 point D swing only need a 5 point swing instead?

Its betting a lot on the swing not going past a certain point, no?

When you let law enforcement act like criminals, people aren't going to question when criminals act like law enforcement.

Opinion | Charlie Kirk Was Practicing Politics the Right Way

I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Charlie Kirk’s ultimate goal, which he said time and time again, would have been the suppression, through threat of violence and the use of state power, of the rights of those he disagreed with, including freedom of expression.

The thing about fascists is they dont care who is actually responsible as long as they can target the groups they want to target in reaponse.

When Minnesota Democratic State Representative Melissa Hortman was murdered in her home by a gun toting MAGA maniac less than 90 days ago they said nothing. Trump even skipped her funeral and chose to play golf instead. He had the chance to condemn political violent and did not.

My completely unpleasant take is that you cannot make a career of inciting others to violence and normalizing using politics as a motive for violence and expect a good outcome. There has been a decade of sewing. And the reaping is of a bitter bloody harvest. My condolences to the children.

I didn't really care who won as long as it wasn't Cuomo, so that's a plus.

A fun thing about American politics is that more people voted in New York City in a June primary than live in five states that get two senators.
