I will add that's only part of the problem. The other part is, the more you flood private markets with cash, the less need for corps to seek public financing. So you gut public markets as well.

I love exceptional extra virgin olive oil, but I’ve stopped drizzling it in pans and on veggies and salads and I’ve started measuring it. 1 tsp per serving.

This small Northeast Ohio town is losing its only grocery store A notice on LaGrange IGA’s doors Friday announced the business had been reclaimed by the building’s owner, weeks before its Aug. 23 scheduled closure.

Tough to see how many small businesses survive increasing costs and trying to compete with large corps.

I got a flu booster today and it made me reflect on the sense of national accomplishment I felt when I drove to a public facility, waited in my car until my number was called on an app, and got my first covid jab. It's fucked the right gets to erase what a moment of technological liberation that was

Shame (as opposed to guilt) is a collective determination that certain things cannot be excused, cannot be ignored, cannot be brushed aside. They must have consequences.

Absolutely shameful.

Afghans who helped American forces are stuck in limbo as the Trump administration cuts the State Department office for Afghan relocation.

We're talking upwards of 250k Afghans here.

When I worked in the corp world the good old boys club was all like this. They’d f things up, but made sure they only stayed in a job for 18-24 mos then leave the rest of us to clean up their mess.

The war on immigration is just all bad in every possible direction.
--It is very expensive
--It radicalizes government agencies
--It distorts US foreign policy
--It is very harmful to the economy
--It is also quite cruel.

There is no second/third order consequence that is positive.

Here's a question for the Trump admin:

If, as you say, illegal border crossings are now zero, which part of the federal government isn't doing its job to stop fentanyl from coming into the country?

At some point in time, people are going to have to stop blaming only Trump and his Cabinet for all these policies which are deeply unpopular with the public. And start spreading some of that blame to the Republican U.S. Senators who voted to confirm them.

I know we’re all sick of the sympathetic Trump voter angle but I did like at the end where he goes β€œyeah I regret voting for him this was fucked up!” instead of being like yeah those guys body slammed grandma but I wouldn’t say I regret anything

Who is doing counter-recruitment organizing for ICE? As the economy worsens, those jobs and the loan forgiveness offer will become more attractive to unpoliticized individuals. There needs to be a clear social cost for even considering joining those ranks.

Epstein and Maxwell were both convicted; no one seriously contests that they committed horrific abuse.

This kind of blanket joking dismissal is really upsetting and disgusting.
