When I worked in the corp world the good old boys club was all like this. They’d f things up, but made sure they only stayed in a job for 18-24 mos then leave the rest of us to clean up their mess.

The war on immigration is just all bad in every possible direction.
--It is very expensive
--It radicalizes government agencies
--It distorts US foreign policy
--It is very harmful to the economy
--It is also quite cruel.

There is no second/third order consequence that is positive.

If, as you say, illegal border crossings are now zero, which part of the federal government isn't doing its job to stop fentanyl from coming into the country?

At some point in time, people are going to have to stop blaming only Trump and his Cabinet for all these policies which are deeply unpopular with the public. And start spreading some of that blame to the Republican U.S. Senators who voted to confirm them.
