30.12.2025 02:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I didnβt analyze dats sources for walkability, but the report says 88 percent of folks in my town (West Hartfird) feel strongly or somewhat strongly there is bikeable infrastructure in the neighborhoods. Weβve made some good progress in the last few years, but this doesnβt square with what I know.
26.12.2025 16:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So we got to visit this intersection nightmare in Tampa, Florida, but we also saw lots of Low Speed Vehicles, EVs, ebikes, people walking and many sites where new active transportation infrastructure is being built. Not many buses, but Happy Holidays car-free Floridians!
24.12.2025 16:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattanβ¦
* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M
So YES this has been a huge success.οΏΌ

14.12.2025 13:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This ridiculous new post by Strong Towns correctly identifies a problem - we build too many failing transit capital projects - and completely misses the mark with its proposed solutions - stopping federal funding for them and instead making projects small and phased.

10.12.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And Iβm not even talking about how hard we go in the paint here in CT to subsidize driving a 3500 pound car all alone with NO one but your climate change conscience riding shotgun.
10.12.2025 13:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Imagine if we could get the YIMBY transit experts in Connecticut to push back on DOT and the Governor as hard as they push back on fare equity campaigners. CT DOT recovers less than 20% of bus operating $ with fares and probably spends all that - if not more - collecting fares. Scarcity mindset.

Duck, or you'll get whacked by the TransitDeathSpiral. Guess what: WE NEED ALL OF IT YESTERDAY. The bus should be FREE for those can't afford it and it should be made BETTER for everyone else. Stop telling us we have to pick and choose amongst the crumbs.
21.11.2025 14:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We should spend the crumbs thrown to bus service in America (compared with subsidizing single occupancy car travel) on shorter headways, expanded times for fixed route service and rapid transit routes, according to ALL the Ivy League transit experts out there.
