The biggest challenge is convincing people that things could be different and that their actions matter.

Get caught trying.

Yes, we’re boxed in by various state laws, but look at what Gavin Newsom is accomplishing by fighting.

So to MD/OR/IL/NY/NJ/WA or any other blue state with red seats:

GET. CAUGHT. TRYING.

They want to make examples out of those who fight so that others won't.

No democratic politician is my family. They are not beyond criticism when they fuck up and they fuck up a lot. I’m not going to ever praise them as perfect. This doesn’t mean I don’t think the GOP is far worse. But I’m not some cheerleader clapping like a seal. If you want that I’m not for you.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Democrats are obsessed with the idea that "If only we do X, Republicans won't be able to criticize us anymore."

That's not how it works!

the takeaway from this, as always, should be to never take republican complaints seriously. theyre always full of shit and they have no principles. trying to appeal to their core beliefs is a sucker's bet. instead stand up for what YOU believe in and talk shit about their shitty ass positions.

The leaders who got us to this point were never going to be the ones who get us to the next one.
